Smiths Detection has won a contract to supply the Paraguayan Customs Service with an additional high energy inspection system and its first mobile low energy X-ray system, which supports plans to modernise and optimise security checks at ports and border crossings in Paraguay.

HCVMe35, Smiths Detection’s high energy system which can screen whole trucks, will be the third system of its kind procured by Paraguayan Customs.

The low energy ScanVan 8585 is a mobile checkpoint for small packages and goods inspection and will also serve to deter and decrease the transit of commercial contraband, weapons, and narcotics.
