Montreal Gateway Terminals Partnership (MGTP) has partnered with CONROO to launch smartphone-based truck handling at two terminal sites in North America.
According to the companies, the rollout marks the first two terminal sites in North America to be fully powered by digital, app-based truck handling.
The system is designed to support the truck journey from pre-arrival booking to gate processing and yard navigation.
The solution allows drivers to book vehicles before arrival, complete secure contactless gate check-in and receive real-time navigation across the yard. MGTP said the system builds on its existing Terminal Operating System (TOS), OCR and PDS infrastructure to create a more integrated terminal environment.

For MGTP, the system is intended to support yard capacity planning, resource utilisation and visibility of truck movements throughout the terminal. For truck drivers, the companies said it aims to reduce waiting times and improve turnaround through a mobile-first process.
The solution operates through smartphones, removing the need for gate kiosks, manual paperwork and additional gate hardware. MGTP and CONROO said this approach allows for faster implementation and provides a basis for expansion to further sites.

With the first two sites now underway, MGTP and CONROO said further locations are expected to follow in North America.
