TTI Algeciras has launched a Truck Appointment System (TAS) in partnership with German technology start-up passify, introducing the first slot-based truck booking system at a Spanish container terminal.
The system allows transport companies to reserve defined time slots for truck arrivals. Each booking is linked to vehicle registration details and validated automatically at the gate.
Existing transport orders remain unchanged, but the digital appointment system significantly improves predictability, reducing waiting times and idle periods for both drivers and terminal staff.
Handling substantial daily container volumes, the terminal must coordinate high numbers of truck movements while maintaining security and operational performance.
The introduction of passify’s solution addresses this directly by allowing transport companies to book precise time slots for each truck, linked to number plates and automatically validated upon arrival.

Operational flexibility is built into the system: configurable templates enable maximum trucks per hour, early and late tolerances, and the management of priority or private slots.
Capacity can even be dynamically adjusted based on real-time processing times. Detailed dashboards and reports provide instant insights into compliance, no-shows, cancellations, and peak hours, while quality scores allow continuous performance tracking and optimisation.
The collaboration between passify and TTI Algeciras goes beyond technology by establishing a centralised, user-friendly platform connecting terminals, transport companies, and drivers. This seamless integration enhances operational control, improves throughput, and elevates performance at the gate.
