SINGA: The Next Generation Container Port

A video released recently shows the Sustainable Integrated Next Generation Advanced (SINGA) Port concept, which recently won the ‘Next Generation Container Port’ challenge.

PTI previously reported a video showing Busan New Port’s vertically-automated container terminal, the first of its kind in Asia, which currently holds the title for short truck turnaround times at its port.

Designed by the National University of Singapore, Shanghai Maritime University and crane manufacturer Zhenhua Heavy Machinery (ZPMC), the automated SINGA port concept has two storeys with a total capacity of 20 million TEU.

It shows its futuristic container moving concept that involves transporting container between both floors via a hole on the top level.

The roof is covered with solar panels and equipped with specially designed triple-hoist quay cranes, as well as an integrated logistics to help along distribution.
