Siemens and smart data specialist SAS have announced their entry into a new partnership, which will help companies in a range of sectors to create new cloud-enabled solutions based on AI and the Internet of Things (IoT).
According to a statement, the joint-venture will provide users with access to SAS’ advanced and predictive analytics through the Siemens MindSphere platform, supporting the adoption of next-generation technologies such as machine learning (ML).
MindSphere is an open IoT operating system which digitally connects physical assets and facilitates a number of technological innovations, including digital twins and powerful industry applications.

By leveraging predictive and prescriptive maintenance, as well as solutions for optimized asset performance management, customers from industries such as manufacturing, energy and the transportation sector can increase productivity and reduce operational risks.
It has also been revealed that companies currently using both SAS and MindSphere will be able to port and deploy previously developed SAS models into MindSphere.
