Seaboard Marine will restore direct, weekly service to Savannah, Georgia, reconnecting the port with key markets in Latin America and the Caribbean and tightening supply chains across the U.S. Southeast.
The first northbound vessel arrived in Savannah on 7 January, sailing from Colombia with port calls in Cartagena, Barranquilla, Santa Marta, and Rio Haina in the Dominican Republic.
The first southbound sailing departs 14 January, formally launching the weekly rotation.
The service establishes consistent Wednesday arrivals and departures in Savannah, offering improved access to Colombia and the Caribbean, competitive transit times, and onward connections via transshipment to West Coast South America.

Georgia Ports Authority Chief Commercial Officer, Flavio Batista, stated: “Seaboard Marine’s weekly Savannah calls will add new cold chain options to our customers’ Latin America and Caribbean supply chain competitiveness. Connections to West Coast of South America relay services will also create more business opportunities.”
The return of direct service to Savannah reflects a broader recalibration in regional trade lanes, as carriers and ports prioritise reliability, cold-chain capacity, and tighter end-to-end connections over sheer scale.
In September 2025, Georgia Ports launched a fast-track routing process for container vessels entering the Port of Savannah, aimed at improving Savannah River transit to Garden City Terminal.
