A.P. Moller-Maersk (Maersk) is omitting the Shanghai port call on its MAERSK NINGBO 626N/631S service.
The carrier cited adverse weather conditions affecting scheduling in the region and said the move aims to minimise delays to the onward schedule.
In place of the Shanghai call, the vessel will visit Xiamen twice: first for discharge operations, then for loading operations, before resuming its usual Northern Star port calls from Brisbane onwards.
Cargo originally scheduled to discharge from MAERSK NINGBO 626N at Shanghai will now be discharged at Xiamen instead, connecting onto ELLY MAERSK 630W. Maersk said onward connections would be replanned as required.

For cargo booked to load MAERSK NINGBO 631S ex Shanghai, bookings will be updated to load ELLY MAERSK 630W ex Shanghai, with cargo transhipped at Xiamen to connect with MAERSK NINGBO 631S.
The adjustment is the latest example of carriers rerouting individual port calls to manage weather-related disruption without cascading delays across a wider service loop, a pattern that has become increasingly common on Asia-Pacific strings as scheduling reliability comes under pressure from both congestion and climate variability.
