The Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) has won the bid for the concession of Bayport Terminal at the Port of Haifa, Israel operations for 25 years, which will begin from 2021.
Bayport terminal is expected to put into full operation in 2021 and SIPG will be responsible for construction of the facilities at the back terminal, deployment and installation of the equipment and daily running and operation of the terminal.
With a total 1,500 metres of quay length, a 78ha surface and a 17.3-metre draft, Bayport New Terminal will handle the designed annual container throughput of 1.86 million TEU.

The successful bidding renders SIPG one of the global terminal operators networking and helps improve the competitive edge in its core business and enhances the strategic cooperation with international ports and shipping liners.
On the other hand, this project is one of the substantive steps to respond to the national ‘One Belt, One Road’ strategy.
