SFT supplies Cylindrical Fender Systems for the Danish Fehmarnbelt-Tunnel

In 2021, ShibataFenderTeam (SFT) supplied fender systems for the construction harbour in Rødby, Denmark.

The new berth accommodates vessels loaded with construction material for the Fehmarnbelt-Tunnel, a road and rail tunnel under the Baltic Sea that stretches for 17.6 kilometers between the German Island of Fehmarn and the Danish Island of Lolland.

The tunnel will be the longest and deepest road and rail tunnel in the world and will improve logistics between Denmark and Germany.

In total, SFT has supplied 13 sets of Cylindrical Fender Systems OD 1400 x ID 800 x L 1600 millimetres and 14 sets of Cylindrical Fender Systems OD 1600 x ID 800 x L 1600 millimetres.

Additionally, 24 sets of T Head Bollards with capacities of 30 tonnes and 60 tonnes have been delivered to the Port of Rødbyhavn.

The company said that the fender system has been designed considering all individual conditions on site as well as the specifics on the construction vessels.

The delivery was made from the company’s local manufacturing facility in Rechlin, Germany.

SFT supplied fender systems to the West Java Terminal near Jakarta and the cargo terminal in Altamira, Mexico.
