Chuck Schneider, Vice President and General Manager, EMEA, Navis, has shared his favourite port automation project: Long Beach Container Terminal (LBCT) in California, US.
Schneider has overseen a variety of terminal system upgrades.
This experience has helped him and his team at Navis to understand how best to optimize LBCT after implementing the N4 TOS.
In the interview, part of Port Technology's AI and Automation series, Schneider said: “Every six to eight weeks, we sit down with the folks from LBCT and the other vendors and we look at all the data.
“We look at a vessel and every event that has occurred [to find] opportunities for optimization.”
