Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) Chittagong, the first privately-owned container terminal in Bangladesh, has begun full gateway operations, handling both imports and exports.
This development follows the arrival of the Maersk Chattogram at RSGT and the completion of trial operations.
The terminal is now fully operational for both import and export activities.
This follows a $3.5 million investment in a new scanner capable of inspecting and processing up to 150 containers per hour.
The terminal has invested $26 million in 14 Rubber-Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes and around $30 million in four ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, with the goal of increasing annual container handling capacity from 250,000 TEUs to 600,000 TEUs by early 2026.
The equipment is expected to improve operational efficiency and lower logistics costs.

The agreement was signed by Kamil Mohamed Gorah, Chairman of the Port of Tadjourah, and Gagan Seksaria, Director of Global Investments for RSGT International, in a ceremony led by Aboubaker Omar Hadi, Chairman of the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority.
