United Global Ro-Ro, a joint venture between Noatum Maritime and Erkport, has celebrated the maiden call of its first LNG-powered Pure Car and Truck Carrier at Autoterminal Khalifa Port.
The vessel with a cargo capacity of more than 7,000 CEUs across 12 decks is designed to optimise high and heavy cargo transportation serving vital markets across the Middle East, Asia, and the Mediterranean.
United Global Ro-Ro’s use of LNG propulsion, modern vessel design, and integration with port infrastructure offers a cost-effective and lower-emission shipping option. According to AD Ports—Noatum’s parent company—the vessel’s reduced emissions also support the UAE’s decarbonisation goals and the partners’ efforts towards cleaner shipping.
