As a result of consolidating feedback, experience and new ideas, terminal operating system (TOS) specialist RBS has developed the next version of its TOS system, ‘TOPS Expert’.
The system will now go from Advance to Expert as it focuses on solid systems architecture.
The company is aiming for a true real-time TOS, with its new functionalities such as automatic search and quick navigation of the system.

A PDF reporting facility has been integrated into the TOS, as well as standard Microsoft programmes such as Microsoft Excel. The new foundation TOPO Expert, as well as the operational module TOPX Expert, will contain this feature.
In the planning stage, RBS has integrated heuristic algorithms that allow the system to do the information handling using Big Data analysis.
This is the new automated berth planning feature that aims to set the basis for efficient operations.
