Managing director of Realtime Business Solution’s (RBS) Europe, Middle East and Africa office Norbert Klettner has given a guest lecture on how to be smart with and properly utilise terminal operating systems (TOS).
The audience was made up of an international mix of students in the Maritime Logistics Workgroup.
Some of the lecture highlights include an explanation on how SMART solutions integrated into a central TOS can make terminal operations significantly more efficient.

Based on the terminal processes and current or new IT solutions, it was explained that efficiency can only be improved if all pieces in a terminal process work together as an integrated solution.
A focus on processes was another key point in rendering the output of processes more efficient and reliable.
For example, real-time auto-planning and planning validation can work ahead of execution if a TOS enables you to do this.
