Qube orders Liebherr mobile harbour crane for Melbourne facility

  • Fourth LHM 280 model ordered for Qube’s Australian operations

Liebherr Maritime Cranes has received an order from Qube Ports & Bulk for a LHM 280 mobile harbour crane for use at the company’s Melbourne Port facility.

The crane is the fourth to be ordered by Qube Ports & Bulk in Western Australia.

Qube Ports & Bulk currently has one LHM 280 model being commissioned in Geraldton for operation with the environmental bulk handling system the Rotabox, and a further two, which are now being assembled, for its operations in the port’s of Fremantle and Bunbury.

The LHM 280 is an 84 tonne unit with 40 metres outreach, and is suitable for handling container, bulk, general and project cargo.

Qube Ports & Bulk, which provides services and facilities in 28 Australian ports, handles more than 40 million tonnes per annum of bulk products and expects volumes to increase.
