Qualcomm Technologies, a specialist in smart communications, has announced that it will carry out demonstrations of industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications using a live 5G network.
The tests, which are scheduled to take place in Hannover Messe as part of a joint-venture between Qualcomm, Bosch, Festo, Goetting, IFAK and Siemens, will determine how well Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X50 5G modem and antenna modules support IIoT technologies.
The Hannover Messe conference will showcase a range of technologies based on 5G and IIoT, including safety panels, smart sensor systems and automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
