PTI previously reported that automation is being seen as a necessary solution increasing efficiency at terminals, with terminal operators at LA-Long Beach recently being called on to automate cargo handling processes in order to have the capacity to handle increased volumes.
PTI’s conference will be exploring the different stages of automation, how this impacts port staff training, as well as how simulation can facilitate terminal operations.
The latest speakers to be announced are Kris Kosmala of Quintiq, who will feature in the second session, entitled ‘Process Automation & Automating the Port Approach’.
The final speaker to be announced is Alexander Willhoeft, Head of Research, Innovations and Product Management at Siemens Cranes, who will, together with Mr Kosmala, be speaking in the second session.
