PSA International has said the Puerto Aguadulce has received and processed its one millionth TEU in a sign that it is fast becoming a gateway hub for trade in and out of Colombia.
Since it opened in 2016, Puerto Aguadulce has become one of the most efficient trade hubs in Colombia, with a high rate of operational productivity.
Miguel Abisambra, Aguadulce General Manager, said, “This is another great news that we can share with the country.
The one millionth container represents our efforts to generate social and economic development in Buenaventura.
“The special characteristics of our terminal and the highly trained and dedicated staff make it possible to generate more options and connections, as well as attract more investments and opportunities for the country.”
South America has become an increasingly important region for the port and terminal sector and containerised trade, as well as the supply chain.
In October 2020, Procomex, the Alliance for Foreign Trade Logistics Modernization of Brazil, has joined the International Port Community Systems Association (IPCSA) to support its work in Brazilian ports on the optimisation and digitalisation of port and logistics.
