PSA Antwerp launches supply chain visibility tool

PSA Antwerp is launching a new interactive platform, ‘CALISTA® P! NG +’, where shippers can receive detailed information about the exact status of their import containers at the terminal.

Users not only receive information about the expected unloading of their import containers, but are also kept informed in real time about the actual unloading and whether or not exemptions have been obtained from shipping companies, customs and inspection authorities, according to PSA Antwerp.

This transparency offers shippers a double advantage: operational time savings when collecting their container and a significant simplification of their administrative follow-up of import files.

CALISTA® P! NG + has been extensively tested and is already operational today at the Europe and North Sea Terminals of PSA Antwerp. The exchange of information can take place via Excel uploads or through direct API integration.

PSA Antwerp is actively in talks with NxtPort to align this service with the CPU initiative to further secure the container release process in the port of Antwerp.

Jan Van Mossevelde, MD PSA Antwerp, said: “With this digital cargo solution we wish to meet the market demand for more transparency in the logistics chain. The platform, as it is launched today, is only a first step in this.

“CALISTA® P! NG + will gradually be expanded with new functionalities to further optimize the logistics flow. ”

For Wim Gijbels, Manager Global Freight Forwarding at Essers, CALISTA® P! NG + offers the following benefits: “Thanks to the clear dashboard, we always have a clear picture of where our containers are and what the exact status is. integration with our freight forwarding software is an important added value. ”

According to Maurits Jongen, Operations Manager at inforMore, CALISTA® P! NG + creates a win-win for the users and the port: “Full visibility for our import containers means that we can plan the further hinterland transport sooner and more efficiently, which is important for the quality and sale of eg fresh fruit.

“Our containers are on location faster and at lower costs.”

Raf De Keersmaecker, ICT Manager at Elite Digital Logistics also commented: “CALISTA® Ping + shows the status of the containers at a glance. This makes it easier to better coordinate the subsequent transport and thus get the containers to the customer faster. It is an ideal tool in the logistics process to accelerate the flow of goods. ”
