  • New Zealand terminal operator selects Navis TOS for management of Auckland’s container operations

Ports of Auckland (POAL), the New Zealand terminal operator, has selected Navis’ SPARCS N4 terminal operating system (TOS) for its container operations in Auckland.

Following implementation, POAL, will use SPARCS N4 to enable gate and quay crane process automation with OCR and PDS technologies. It will also incorporate Navis’ advanced optimisation modules into key operations.

“We’ve chosen Navis SPARCS N4 because it will help us improve productivity and reduce costs,” said Ports of Auckland’s general manager of operations, Raoul Borley.

“It is an essential building block for our future growth.”

POAL is one of the most influential seaport companies in New Zealand, connecting the region’s importers and exporters with more than 165 international ports in nearly 70 countries. Its Auckland facility handles more than 800,000 TEU per year, representing more than 31 percent of New Zealand’s total container trade.
