Valenciaport expands maritime services base
The Port Authority of Valencia (APV) has awarded a contract worth more than €2 million ($2.3 million) to Binaria Compañía General de Construcciones to expand an office building at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia.

The upgraded facility will accommodate both the Civil Guard Maritime Service and the State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT).

The project includes extending the existing structure in both footprint and height, alongside the installation of two modular units, one permanent and one temporary to be used during construction. The works are expected to be completed within 12 months.

The initiative forms part of a cooperation agreement between APV and the AEAT, creating a shared operational base for both services within the same complex.

The current single-storey building, located on a reclaimed pier and surrounded on three sides by marina waters, will be expanded eastwards and vertically with the addition of a first floor.

The Civil Guard Maritime Service will occupy the enlarged ground floor, while AEAT will use the new upper level.

A permanent modular building will also serve AEAT operations, while a temporary structure will house Civil Guard facilities during construction.

The expansion will deliver additional office space, meeting rooms, kitchen facilities and changing areas, addressing capacity constraints in the current building.

All installations will comply with current regulations and incorporate energy-efficiency measures, including an aerothermal climate control system and photovoltaic panels for on-site electricity generation.

In February, Valenciaport inaugurated the Ministry of the Interior’s border control support point at the Port of Valencia.
