Pilbara Ports Authority has confirmed the completion of inspections and progressive restoration of operations across the Port of Dampier and Port of Ashburton following Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle (34U).
The Port of Dampier reopened on 28 March, although the authority reported significant damage across its general cargo precinct and import operations.
Qube’s floating deck RoRo facility has also resumed operations, although it is not yet fully restored, with users advised to contact Qube Holdings for current availability. The Bulk Liquids Berth remains operational, with fuel import activity unaffected.
At the Port of Ashburton, operations resumed on 28 March, with all cargo wharves returning to service by 9 April 2026.
Underwater inspections have been completed, debris has been safely recovered, and remaining landside restrictions are being managed in coordination with stakeholders.
The Port of Varanus Island also reopened on 28 March and reported no operational impact from the cyclone.
Recently, Pilbara Ports announced the names of two mobile harbour cranes at Lumsden Point.
