Peel Ports joins Chane to expand liquid bulk offer
Peel Ports Group has partnered with liquid bulk storage operator Chane to pursue growth in bulk liquid cargoes, with expansion plans already underway at the Port of Liverpool.

Chane, whose primary UK terminal sits within the Port of Liverpool, is planning to add storage capacity at the site, broadening the range and types of liquid products the partnership can handle.

The two companies will jointly target new and existing importers and exporters through their combined commercial networks.

The agreement arrives against a backdrop of sustained demand growth in liquid bulk commodities, driven by shifting energy requirements, rising biofuel adoption, and continued demand for specialist chemical and food-grade logistics.

Phil Hall, Port Director, Port of Liverpool, Peel Ports Group, said: “Liquid bulk is becoming an increasingly important aspect of our cargo offering at the Port of Liverpool. This new partnership with Chane will strengthen our ability to support customers across multiple high-growth sectors. We look forward to working more closely with their teams, which we believe can help us both reach new markets across the UK and beyond.”

Andrew Shaw, Terminal Manager, Chane, stated: “Partnering with Peel Ports Group will allow us to build on our strong presence at the Port of Liverpool and extend our reach across its wider port network. By combining our specialist expertise with Peel Ports Group’s extensive infrastructure and strategic locations, we are well positioned to support even more customers with safe, efficient and scalable liquid bulk solutions.”

The partnership will concentrate on commercial outreach across key industrial sectors, with Chane’s planned capacity additions at Liverpool intended to underpin volume growth across both organisations’ customer bases.

In February, Peel Ports Group was shortlisted for the TT Club Innovation in Safety Award after replacing its paper-based permit-to-work process with a fully digital, in-house designed system to manage high-risk activities across its ports.
