Vessel delays and adverse weather conditions are affecting operations at ports in Northern Europe, according to a recent market update from Maersk.
In Rotterdam, storms and strong winds have impacted vessel arrivals and yard operations, contributing to very high yard density levels.
Maersk has advised customers to collect import containers as soon as possible after discharge to help maintain terminal efficiency.
The carrier noted that the upcoming Easter holidays are expected to result in limited labour availability across terminals, particularly in Germany.
Planning measures are being coordinated with terminal authorities to support cargo flows during this period.

In the Western Mediterranean, terminals have experienced severe winter weather and related closures since mid-January, leading to congestion and increased yard density.
To address schedule disruption, Maersk is implementing contingency measures, including targeted port omissions on its SAMBA service, aimed at restoring schedule reliability.
Separately, the company stated that logistics operations in the Middle East continue to face disruption due to ongoing geopolitical tensions, with conditions evolving and visibility remaining limited.
