Port of Valencia names US and China as top trading partners
The latest Statistical Bulletin from the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has highlighted China and the US as its top trading partners from January to April 2025.

China leads with 2.77 million tonnes (+19.81 per cent) and 256,519 TEUs (+27.30 per cent), solidifying its position as the main partner of Valencia.

The US follows with 1.98 million tonnes (+9.32 per cent) and 129,724 TEUs (+6.85 per cent).

Other notable increases include Algeria (+23.64 per cent in tonnes) and Ukraine (+19.42 per cent).

Exports from Valencia continue to grow, with full container traffic rising 6.37 per cent year-to-date (YTD).

In April alone, full TEUs increased 6.47 per cent, driven by a 22.09 per cent jump in discharges and a 0.53 per cent rise in transits.

Overall, Valenciaport handled 26.4 million tonnes (+0.15 per cent) and 1.8 million TEUs (+6.55 per cent) in the first four months of 2025.

Between January and February, the Valenciaport Statistical Bulletin reported that container traffic with Angola increased by 2,200.88 per cent in tonnes.
