CMA CGM has launched a new weekly GETEX (Greece Egypt Turkey Express) service connecting North Greece with Egypt and South Turkey while utilising the Port of Thessaloniki (ThPA S.A.) as its first call.

The new service will see a vessel carrying a nominal capacity of 850 TEU across the Eastern European shores.

The full rotation for the GETEX service is as follows: Thessaloniki (Greece) – Damietta (Egypt) – Alexandria El Dekheila (Egypt) – Mersin (Turkey) – Thessaloniki

In a statement from CMA CGM, this sustainable option is aimed at fostering its connection with North and Central Greece, Eastern Europe to Egypt and South Turkey and a direct and fast connection between South Turkey and Greece with a gateway to Eastern European countries.

ThPA S.A. has also partnered with the Department of Business Administration of the Management Economics and Social Sciences of the University of West Attica. Announced in September 2021, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of exchanging knowledge and applied best practices.
