The Port of Koper has welcomed the arrival of the first of two new ship-to-shore (STS) container cranes.
The latest addition to the port’s infrastructure arrived on 29 April and boasts an outreach of 24 container rows. It also features the latest electronic upgrades which help ensure safe operations and higher productivity.
The crane is expected to be operational within three weeks, when all check-ups and tests are performed.
The second half of the order is scheduled to arrive over the next few days.
Once both machines are operational, the Port of Koper will have 11 STS cranes in use.
Earlier this year, the container terminal at the port set a new monthly container handling record.
A total of 99,533 TEU moved through Koper in March, surpassing the previous record of 97,101 TEU.
