Port of Koper connects to Far East Asia

Volta Shipping Services has launched a new service connecting the Port of Koper to ports in the Far East with a stopover in Libya.

The new MED service from the shipping line will service three vessels with capacity ranging from 1,200 TEU to 2,700 TEU and connect Slovenia’s primary port to five Far East ports alongside the Port of Misurata.

The full port rotation is as follows: Qingdao (China) – Pusan (South Korea) – Shanghai (China) – Ningbo (China) – Misurata (Libya) – Koper (Slovenia)

The Port of Koper also previously struck a deal with Camco Technologies to automate its container and rail wagon registration services in anticipation of a growth in cargo throughput.
