SLPA Terminals and CMA CGM have signed a Terminal Service Agreement to strengthen collaboration and attract greater container volumes to the Port of Colombo.
The signing was attended by senior officials from both organisations, including Admiral Sirimewan Ranasinghe (Rtd), Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Eng. Ganaka Hemachandra, Managing Director, and U. Kumara, Director – Marketing & Business Development, alongside CMA CGM and Hayleys Advantis representatives.
Its services connect Colombo to international markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas and Asia, supporting both direct trade and transhipment operations.
The Terminal Service Agreement formalises operational and commercial arrangements between SLPA Terminals and CMA CGM, covering vessel scheduling, cargo handling coordination, and overall port efficiency.

CMA CGM’s global expertise is expected to enhance service management and facilitate higher container volumes through Colombo.
The agreement underlines SLPA’s ongoing strategy to strengthen port services and attract international shipping lines.
Colombo continues to serve as a key deep-water hub for regional maritime trade, and the partnership with CMA CGM is intended to consolidate the port’s capabilities and support its growth as a major maritime gateway.
