Starck International is developing a new agricultural commodities hub at Quarleskade in Vlissingen, following an investment at North Sea Port.
The company has acquired warehouses and terminal facilities at the site and has entered into a long-term lease with North Sea Port for an additional 6 hectares of land.
The full terminal area covers 14 hectares.
“With the development of the terminal, which covers a total of 14 hectares, we are strengthening our position in international trade, storage and logistics for agricultural bulk flows,” said Vincent Allertz, CEO of Starck International.

Starck International is active in the livestock feed sector and is part of the Italian Borsari Group. The company already operates in the port area through Feijter-Granen in Sas van Gent.
The Vlissingen expansion will allow Starck to consolidate cargo flows currently handled through several ports at one additional location. The company said the move is intended to improve the efficiency of its logistics chain through its own operations.
The terminal will focus mainly on the storage, transhipment and distribution of residual flows from food production, which are processed into animal feed as part of a circular supply chain. Starck also trades in raw materials for the compound feed and fermentation industries.

“The investment by Starck in a new agricultural terminal fits well with North Sea Port as a port for bulk and logistics activities,” said Cas König, CEO of North Sea Port.
“This contributes to the creation of additional jobs and the further economic development of the port and the region, as well as strengthening European autonomy for agricultural raw materials.”
North Sea Port said one advantage of the site is that Starck can begin operations in the near future. Activities are expected to start in the coming months in existing warehouses at the former Bulk Terminal Zeeland site, where BOW Terminals is now based.
Starck’s additional 6 hectares of leased land, together with a planned 50-metre quay extension, is intended to provide further capacity for the company’s future growth.
