Marsa Maroc has been awarded the concession for petroleum berth 8 Bis at the port of Jorf Lasfar, following a tender process launched by the National Ports Agency.
The concession runs for 30 years, expanding Marsa Maroc’s Moroccan terminal portfolio.
Under the agreement, Marsa Maroc will handle the design, financing, construction and development of berth 8 Bis, along with its equipment, commercial operations, maintenance and upkeep.
The berth will feature a 71-metre quay and a draught of 16.5 metres, providing handling capacity for 4.6 million tonnes of liquid bulk products annually.

Commissioning is scheduled for the first quarter of 2029. The new facility is expected to support growth in national demand for petroleum products while strengthening Marsa Maroc’s position in the liquid bulk segment at Jorf Lasfar.
The concession adds to a wave of liquid bulk capacity investment across North African ports, as operators respond to growing regional demand for petroleum product handling infrastructure ahead of the end of the decade.
