In the presence of Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister of Laos, and Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the MoU was signed by Gulftainer’s Group CEO, Farid Belbouab, and Dr. Chanthone Sitthixay, Chairman and CEO of PTL Holding Co. Ltd.

The MoU aims to leverage Gulftainer’s expertise in ports and logistics operations to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of PTL Holding Co. Ltd. dry ports in the Lao PDR.

It also seeks to optimise the country’s investment in Vung Ang Port and co-develop logistics corridors and intermodal solutions.

These initiatives will further enhance the country’s trade connectivity, enabling seamless cargo flow to regional and global markets.

Farid Belbouab, Group CEO of GT, said: “This step aligns with our strategy to expand our presence in Southeast Asia and supports the growth of regional trade. We’re excited to work with PTL Holding Co. Ltd. and contribute to the development of Laos’ ports and logistics infrastructure.

“Together, we will establish a framework for collaboration on logistics and connectivity opportunities linked to Laos’ dry ports platform and regional corridor development.”
