Mawani grants PIL unified maritime licence
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has issued a unified licence to the Pacific International Lines (PIL) as an approved foreign investor to carry out maritime agency activities at ports across the Kingdom.

The licence was granted in accordance with the approved controls and requirements set out in the regulatory framework for maritime agents.

Mawani’s regulatory framework reportedly allows foreign companies to invest in maritime agency activities within the Kingdom.

According to the Saudi government body, granting the licence to PIL is part of a broader initiative awarding licences to leading global maritime transport companies to support the development of an advanced and sustainable maritime sector.

Last month, Mawani signed a contract with Singatac Arabia to establish a manufacturing centre for offshore structures and platforms at Ras Al-Khair Port, serving the oil and gas industry.
