Pilbara Ports achieved a total monthly throughput of 59.8 million tonnes (Mt) in July 2024.
This value is comparable with the overall monthly throughput for July 2023.
The Port of Port Hedland recorded a monthly throughput of 44 Mt, including 43.2 Mt of iron ore exports. This was a 1 per cent drop in overall throughput from July 2023.

Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 192,000 tonnes, 1,000 tonnes greater than in July 2023.
The Port of Dampier achieved a total throughput of 14.6 Mt, a 4 per cent increase over July 2023. Imports through the Port of Dampier were 169,000 tonnes, a 58 per cent increase from July 2023.
Pilbara Ports noted that several variables impact the variability of throughput, including market circumstances, port maintenance operations, and proponent requirements.
