ZIM Integrated Shipping Services has named Dr Chen Lichtenstein as its next President and Chief Executive Officer, taking effect 1 July 2026.
He succeeds Eli Glickman, who stepped down on 15 April 2026. Dr Lichtenstein will join the Board of Directors upon appointment, with his employment agreement requiring shareholder approval under Israeli Companies Law.
His career covers investment banking, corporate finance, and agrochemical sector leadership. Between 2014 and 2020, he led ADAMA Ltd. as President and CEO, steering the company through sustained growth and a listing on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
He then moved to Syngenta Group, serving as Chief Financial Officer from 2020 to 2023, with responsibility spanning strategy, integration, and a complex global portfolio including Chinese operations.
Prior to that, he spent seven years at Goldman Sachs in New York and London in senior investment banking roles.
The appointment followed a board-led search overseen by Chairman Yair Seroussi, Dr Yoram Turbowicz, and Yair Avidan.
Yair Seroussi, Chairman of the Board, stated: “Dr Chen Lichtenstein is a highly experienced top-tier international executive, with a unique combination of extensive managerial experience, financial depth, strategic insight, and the ability to lead complex global organisations.
“His broad experience in managing international companies, working with global markets, shareholders, and boards of directors, together with his judgment and experience in leading transformation and integration processes, make him the right executive to lead ZIM at this time. We thank Eli Glickman for his significant contribution to the Company and wish Chen great success in his role.”
