The Port of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) handled 667,346 TEU in January 2024.
This strong total outpaced port activity in pre-pandemic January 2019 by 7.2 per cent and surpassed January 2023 activity by 3.4 per cent.

According to PANYNJ, the PATH commuter railway served around 4.1 million passengers in January 2024, continuing its steady traffic growth. The amount was a 10 per cent rise from January 2023.
Compared to December 2023, January volume decreased by roughly 2.8 per cent, reflecting customary lower levels in January, and was 63 per cent of the total for January 2019.
The average weekday ridership in January 2024 was 161,762. The daily volume increased by 11% from the January 2023 average weekday ridership.
In February, PANYNJ announced the completion of a new $47.2 million station house at the Harrison stop on the PATH commuter rail.
