The Panama Canal Authority has recently released its February edition of the expanded Panama Canal, which shows the most up-to-date instalment to the canal’s construction process.
The canal is now entering its final lay, with global expansion process currently standing at 96%.
The third set of locks project is 95% complete and the canal is continuing its move forward with electro mechanical installation to ensure it is completed by the end of June, 2016.
Currently, the project has cost a total of more than US$5 billion when taking into account the repair costs for the recent crack discovered at the bottom of one of the lock gates.
