Panama Maritime Authority calls for tenders for Puerto Armuelles dock project

The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) has announced a new call for tenders for the construction of the new Fiscal Dock of Puerto Armuelles.

The project is valued at approximately $20 million and includes the study, design, development, and approval of plans and construction of the Fiscal Dock. It will also oversee the supply of furniture, tools, equipment, and necessary materials for productive office work in the dock area.

“The AMP recognisies the direct impact on the economy that the construction of this dock will bring, by promoting the creation of jobs and the reactivation of tourism not only in the area but throughout the West of Chirica,” said the maritime authority in a statement.

In other recent news, the AMP has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ClassNK to boost its cyber security efforts.

Under the MoU, ClassNK has agreed to provide its knowledge and experience cultivated so far to help the maritime authority further ensure cyber security.
