Paceco Corp informed PTI that one of the major challenges globally facing ports and terminals is the mega-ships arriving at each port. So, terminal operators have to improve their facilities if they can accommodate these ships and become more operationally efficient.
As a STS crane-supplier, Paceco Corp is a firm believer in adopting a positive approach. It is developing marketing strategies to overcome challenges and to better equip ports and terminals with the appropriate technology to make them more productive.

Paceco is an engineering company. We license container-handling cranes. Right now we have a whole licensee in the world which Mitzui in Japan, Paceco Spain, Hyundai Korea and TIM India. What we are proud of is that Paceco has created the first container-handling crane: STS in the world in 1959.
We are working together with four licensees to develop crane business. One challenge is mega-ships arriving to each port, so terminals operators have to improve terminal facilities and operational efficiencies. Our challenge is to support terminal operators. Container cranes must be bigger, so then we create light-weight STS. Also crane-height has become higher so therefore STS operate remotely.
We are creating, providing, scanning and soft running systems. Our challenge is to make terminal operations more efficient. One way we do this is by creating the rail shuttles concept. Our company Paceco and our licensee Mitzui essentially created automated container terminal systems which are called rail shuttles. Now, we are trying to develop marketing for positivity and this is our big challenge.
Paceco Corp is located in California so Californian regulation for the environment is very serious. We are creating environmentally friendly products such as a hybrid RTG and electrical RTG but now in future we are thinking battery-powered RTG. We are not affected by cheaper price because we are focused on high-quality and customer satisfaction, as well as good service and always thinking about the customers and this is our philosophy.
