Operations begin at Ankara’s new intermodal terminal

Yilport has announced that Ankara’s Port Başkent OIZ Eti Logistics Ankara Intermodal Terminal has launched its operations.

In the first phase of the terminal’s operation, a railway connection and a 700-metre platform were opened. More notably, the first train operation was successfully carried out at the terminal.

Ankara’s Port Başkent OIZ Eti Logistics Ankara Intermodal Terminal has a capacity of 500,000 TEU for containers and 20.00 million tonnes for dry bulk.

“This terminal, which plays a significant role in Turkish trade, accelerates the integration of Ankara-based companies into global trade networks by connecting Anatolia to Turkish marine terminals within 24 hours,” commented Yilport in a statement.

Almost a year ago, Yilport announced the completion of the integration of the Navis Terminal Operating System (TOS) in YILPORT Leixões.

Earlier this year, Yilport collaborated with Spedition Bode and Kombiverkehr GmbH & Co. KG to double the number of departures between Stockholm Nord and Europe as part of its investment in expanded train service.
