Hong Kong-based container carrier Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced that Q4 2024 saw an increase in total revenues by 55 per cent to $2.5 million compared to the same period in 2023.
Total liftings increased by 6.1 per cent and the loadable capacity increased by 4.2 per cent.
The overall load factor was 1.5 per cent higher than the same period in 2023. Overall average revenue per TEU increased by 46.2 per cent compared to Q4 of last year.
During the same period, OOCL handled approximately 2 million TEUs, marking a 6 per cent increase compared to 2023 Q4.
For the whole year, OOCL reported annual revenues exceeding $9.8 billion, a notable 30 per cent increase from the previous year, while total container volumes exceeded 7.5 million TEUs, reflecting a 3.5 per cent year-over-year growth.

Late last year, OOCL unveiled a brand new 16,828 TEU container vessel, the ‘OOCL Iris’.
