Ocean Network Express (ONE) Thailand has reached the milestone of attaining 1 million TEU, after going into business just nine months ago.
According to statistics from the Bangkok Shipowners and Agents Association, the overall TEU volume of export & import laden containers in Thailand totalled 8 million between January 2018 and December 2018.
The achievement of 1 million TEU has been described as an “important chapter” for ONE Thailand, which has overcome a series of challenges following the commencement of the business in April 2018.
ONE has stated that this milestone reflects the “potential and importance of ONE’s role” in maritime trade between Thailand and major trade lanes around the world.

Kiyoshi Tokonami, Managing Director of ONE Thailand, said: “This realization is a testament of the strong collaboration and support between our esteemed customers, business partners and ONE Thailand.
“In addition to the memorial milestone, with newly built container vessel “ONE Columba”, whose loading capacity of 14000 TEUs being the largest ever to call Thailand in late 2018, we successfully demonstrated ONE’s commitment to the Thai government’s policies for economic growth, especially for the national project Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
“Whilst maintaining our Intra-Asia presence, we are continuously expanding our service networks to further improve trade connectivity for the world.”
ONE intends to enhance its handling capacity and maintain competitiveness, setting trends and standards in order to continue its success in Thailand.
