ONE Reveals Stranded Seafarer Rescue

Ocean Network Express (ONE), the sixth largest container shipping company in the world, has revealed that one its vessels was responsible for the rescue of a distressed sailor.

On October 31, 2018, ONE-operated container ship NYK Nebula discovered the French-Canadian seafarer in the North Atlantic Ocean, aboard a yacht with a torn sail.

NYK Nebula was navigating the ocean when the vessel received a distressed call from the yacht, requesting urgent assistance.

According to a statement, the Nebula immediately deviated from its course and launched a rescue operation for the affected yacht.

Less than three hours after receiving the initial distress call, ONE declared the rescue operation a success.

Following the rescue, NYK resumed its sea passage to Southampton, with no delay caused by the unexpected situation.
