Ocean Network Express’ (ONE) CEO, Jeremy Nixon, gives a message to customers ahead of the company launch on April 1, 2018.

In the video, Nixon explains that “…although the company will be larger, we want to maintain that close focus [of the legacy companies] on the customer, or as we say; ‘Large enough to survive but still small enough to care’”.

Nixon also thanks the customers of ONE in the video for their “support and belief” in the company and giving them the “responsibility” their shipping operations.

ONE is the result of a merger between Japanese carrier lines Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK), creating the sixth largest container shipping company in the world.

The merger was approved for all regions and countries on July 3, 2017, with the exception of South Africa – who gave the approval after lengthy negotiations on January 18, 2018.

ONE will launch operations featuring a global fleet of 250 vessels, with a total fleet capacity of 1.4 million TEU.
