Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced that it has launched the ONE COLMBA, a new 14,000 TEU capacity container ship after it was unveiled at the Kure Shipyard of Japan Marine United Corporation.

It is ONE’s fourth newly built 14,000 TEU container ship to be delivered in 2018, following ONE STORK, ONE MINATO and ONE Aquila.

Its hull has been built specifically built to optimize cargo-loading efficiency, which ONE achieved by minimizing engine-room space.

The vessel is also equipped with a dual system application in its main engine, which will make it capable of adopting high or low output ranges.

This will also allow operational flexibility and an improved fuel-consumption rate, resulting in a cut in carbon dioxide emissions.

Furthermore, the navigation bridge has adopted the Integrated Navigation System (INS) which consolidates the functions of vessel systems to save operators workload effectively.

It will initially service ONE’s Asia to Europe route between Leam Chabang and Southampton. It will be the largest container ship to ever call at Leam Chabang.

ONE is currently waiting for three more vessels, which are under construction and expected to be ready for operations in 2019.
