One Dead, Three Injured in Ship Accident

One person has died and another three were injured after an accident in a hold containing wood pellets aboard the MV Corina bulk ship recently, bringing the total number of confined space casualties to 11 within the past month.

PTI previously reported on the dangers of dock working, and that docks can be dangerous environments for both port workers and people visiting the site.

The latest incident, according gCaptain, occurred in Hanstholm, Denmark where four crew members were found unconscious in a cargo hold while a fifth person is believed to have escaped the area.

The Seafarers’ Union Nautilus protested at the number of incidents taking place and has since demanded action.
