Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced the launch of its new Upper Gulf Service (UGS), connecting the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain/Kuwait.
The UGS service is expected to provide faster, more efficient, and stable connections for shipping activities from the transshipment hub, Jebel Ali, which is considered as the gateway of the vast Arabian Peninsula.
The UGS service will have two separate loops:
- Loop-A, which includes Jebel Ali and Bahrain.
- Loop-B, which includes Jebel Ali, Shuaiba, and Shuwaikh.
Loop-A will operate on a weekly basis, while Loop-B will follow a rolling schedule every 8-10 days.
The service is set to launch on 3 March, with the X-Press Nuptse V23009, which will be heading to Bahrain.
On 6 March, the HAIAN MIND V23006 will set sail from Jebel Ali to Shuaiba and Shuwaikh.
The company announced that it had donated SGD40,000 ($30,000) and $60,000 to the Singapore Red Cross and the Turkish Red Crescent Society, respectively.
