Ocean Network Express (ONE) has shown its support for humanitarian aid efforts in response to the recent earthquakes that have hit southern Türkiye and northern Syria.
In a statement released by the company, ONE announced that it had donated SGD40,000 ($30,000) and $60,000 to the Singapore Red Cross and the Turkish Red Crescent Society, respectively.
ONE’s partners, CAI International, Inc., Textainer Group Holdings Limited, and Triton Container International Limited, are also providing dry containers for transporting aid materials and shelter through the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The news follows Yilport and Maersk‘s recent aid supports to the earthquake victims.
The earthquakes, which struck on 6 February 2023, have caused widespread damage and loss of life, as the container fire at the Port of Iskenderun is projected to cause around $679 million loss in trade.
