The International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) has certified Conductix-Wampfler’s LASSTEC Container Weighing System under the R51 standard.
An EU-accepted verification proves that Conductix-Wampfler, a specialist in intelligent energy supply and data transmission systems for moving machinery, has met the conformity requirements set by OIML R51 for weight measuring instruments and that its LASSTEC system yields accurate container weight information required by the standard.
Ports and regulating authorities around the world need an EU-recognized certification to assure that their customers can use the LASSTEC system as a legal weighing system.
Data from the LASSTEC system fulfills the current SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) container weight verification requirements, alleviating a major concern of shippers and terminal operators verifying the gross mass (VGM) of containers accurately and with reliability.
With the strict SOLAS container weight verification requirements, which holds shippers accountable for documenting accurate and safe container weights, a weighing system that has gone through the certification process allows to shippers to meet SOLAS requirements.
Since IMO introduced SOLAS requirements, Conductix-Wampfler has sold more than 500 systems to terminal operators and OEMs worldwide.

With advanced sensors mounted directly into the twistlocks, the LASSTEC system provides a high level of accuracy “on the go.” The systems have been operating in numerous terminals around the world, with some of the systems in operation for more than six years.
Conductix-Wampfler is completing the installation and commissioning of 175 systems at a major terminal in the Middle East.
The company has installed over 50 systems at a major container terminal operator in England.
