Paceco España has signed a contract with Guadeloupe Port Caraïbes for the supply of a Post-Panamax Portainer STS crane with a maximum lift capacity of 60 tons that can operate under the high wind conditions of the Caribbean.

The delivery will take place in 2018 for Port de Jarry container handling terminal, where the insular region of France serves as crossing point for shipping routes from Europe, America and Asia, located between the Caribbean and North Atlantic Sea.

Five container-handling cranes already serve 600 metres of quay at the terminal in order to handle 3.8 million tons of goods annually.

Paceco España engineering team will design the crane, with construction taking place at its European manufacturing facilities.

The Post-Panamax Portainer STS crane is a twin girder boom type design, with an outreach of 43 metres to reach 16-18 rows in vessels. It also has a height under spreader of 33.10 metres and a 15 metre rail span.
